Our client, an expanding company operating in the premium alternative asset space, is looking for a driven, relationship-focused Business Development Executive to join their sales team and play a key role in continued growth.

This is an opportunity to step into a business development role with genuine warm-lead advantage.

You'll have access to an existing database of over 5,000 customers alongside the scope to build and own your personal book of clients from the ground up.

You'll be the primary point of contact for clients navigating ownership of a high-value physical asset, whether they’re purchasing for personal enjoyment or as a speculative investment, guiding them with clarity, honesty, and a genuinely consultative approach.

You’ll manage the full sales cycle: from prospecting and initial outreach through to pitching and closing.

This role suits someone who thrives on autonomy and is motivated by uncapped earning potential, but who also values doing right by the client.

Our client's mission is to bring transparency and trust to their market, and their sales approach reflects that.

No prior asset management industry experience is required — full training will be provided — but a strong foundation in high-value sales, relationship management, or client-facing business development is essential.

Key responsibilities

  • Proactively research and identify high-net-worth individuals and potential investors through referrals, networking, industry events, and targeted outreach, building a consistent pipeline of qualified prospects.
  • Confidently educate clients on the asset class, the secondary market, and the company's approach to transparency and asset management, presenting tailored proposals that align with each client's objectives.
  • Manage the full sales cycle from initial contact through to close, handling objections and converting prospects into long-term clients.
  • Build and grow a personal client list by converting warm leads from the company's existing database of over 5,000 customers, alongside self-sourced new business.
  • Maintain and nurture relationships with existing clients post-sale, identifying opportunities for repeat purchases, portfolio expansion, and referrals to maximise client lifetime value.
  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date records in the CRM, tracking deal flow, forecasting revenue, and reporting progress against personal targets.
  • Ensure all client conversations, particularly around investment potential and returns, are accurate, balanced, and compliant with relevant guidance, prioritising client trust and long-term relationships over short-term sales pressure.
  • Work closely with the wider team (operations, client services) to ensure a seamless client experience from initial engagement through to delivery and ongoing management.
  • Required skills and experience
  • The ability to educate on and discuss high-value physical assets with confidence, clarity, and credibility, adapting your style for customer needs.
  • Track record of developing trusted, long-term client relationships.
  • Comfortable proactively sourcing new business through networking, referrals, and outreach, alongside converting warm leads.
  • Proven ability to manage prospects from first contact through to close, including objection handling and closing.
  • Strong personal discipline around pipeline management, deal forecasting, and CRM accuracy.
  • Comfortable working with high-net-worth individuals.
  • An understanding of (or willingness to quickly learn) how to communicate investment potential responsibly and accurately, avoiding misleading claims.
  • An established personal network of contacts is an advantage, though not essential.
  • Knowledge of the Scotch Whisky industry is desirable but not essential — this detail may need to stay masked depending on how far you want to anonymise; let me know if you'd like it removed entirely.
