We are hiring a CPU RTL Design Engineer to work on next-generation high-performance, low-power processors. This role sits at the intersection of architecture, microarchitecture, and RTL implementation, with early involvement across the full product lifecycle.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with CPU architects to explore and define high-performance microarchitectural strategies
  • Drive microarchitecture development from early concept through detailed specification
  • Own RTL design, development, refinement, and optimisation across power, performance, area, and timing
  • Support functional verification through close collaboration with verification teams
  • Support performance verification to ensure architectural and RTL goals are met
  • Partner with physical design and cross-functional teams to deliver robust, manufacturable designs
  • Contribute to timing, power, reliability, testability, and area closure

Required Experience

  • Strong understanding of CPU and microprocessor architecture
  • Deep expertise in one or more of the following:
  • Instruction fetch and decode
  • Branch prediction
  • Instruction scheduling and register renaming
  • Cache, memory subsystems, and prefetching
  • Hands-on RTL development experience using Verilog and/or VHDL
  • Experience with simulation, debug, and waveform analysis tools
  • Solid grasp of logic design fundamentals, timing, and power trade-offs
  • Understanding of low-power and high-performance CPU design techniques
  • Experience using scripting languages such as Python or Perl
  • Nice to Have

    • Exposure to performance modelling or architectural exploration
    • Experience working closely with physical design teams
