We are looking for an experienced Embedded Multimedia Application Engineer to support advanced automotive platforms. This role blends hands‑on embedded software engineering with direct technical engagement with automotive customers and partners. You will work closely with automotive OEMs and Tier‑1 suppliers throughout the full product lifecycle — from early architecture discussions and feature prototyping to integration, optimization, and commercial launch. Success in this role requires strong system‑level debugging expertise, deep multimedia knowledge, and the ability to collaborate effectively with external engineering teams. Responsibilities

  • Develop, integrate, and troubleshoot multimedia software on embedded automotive platforms.
  • Support platform bring‑up activities including feature enablement and system integration.
  • Customize and optimize software to meet specific customer product requirements.
  • Perform deep system‑level debugging across audio, display, and graphics subsystems.
  • Analyze and resolve GPU‑related issues, display timing challenges, and performance bottlenecks.
  • Conduct profiling and implement performance improvements across the software stack.
  • Collaborate with hardware and driver teams to resolve complex cross‑functional issues.
  • Serve as a primary technical interface for automotive customers.
  • Assist partners with architecture reviews, software customization, and issue resolution.
  • Provide detailed root cause analysis and clear mitigation strategies.
  • Review and interpret technical specifications and requirements.
  • Quickly ramp up on existing codebases and platform architectures.
  • Support commercialization efforts by ensuring software readiness and stability.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field with 4+ years of relevant experience, Master’s degree with 3+ years of relevant experience or PhD with 2+ years of relevant experience.
  • 6+ years of experience in embedded software development, integration, and debugging.
  • Strong programming skills in C/C++ (experience with Java or Python is a plus).
  • Proven experience in embedded multimedia systems, including one or more of: Audio, Display, Graphics, or GPU subsystems.
  • Hands‑on experience with operating systems such as QNX, Linux, Android, or other real‑time operating systems.
  • Experience with Automotive Infotainment or Digital Cockpit platforms.
  • Strong understanding of graphics and display technologies, including: OpenGL ES, Vulkan, OpenCL.
  • GPU buffer management and shader architecture.
  • Display panel timing, pixel clocks, and frame rates.
  • Display and graphics drivers/controllers.
  • MPI, CSI, and DSI interfaces.
  • Composition pipelines and color formats.
  • Experience debugging GPU hangs and supporting display panel bring‑up activities.
  • Exposure to hypervisors, virtualization technologies, and Linux Containers.
  • Familiarity with Qt/QML, shared memory (SHM), window managers, and texture compression.
  • Strong system‑level performance profiling and optimization skills.
  • Excellent issue triage, debugging, and root cause analysis capabilities.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a customer‑facing or technical support role.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross‑functional teams and external customers.
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly adapt to new technologies, platforms, and complex system architectures.
