Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Senior Network Engineer with strong expertise in Network Source of Truth, NetBox, network automation and network reliability. The role will focus on establishing and maintaining NetBox as the authoritative source of record for enterprise network data, improving network inventory accuracy, automation, governance and integration with enterprise platforms such as ServiceNow. The successful candidate will also contribute towards expanding network automation and developing a strategic roadmap towards Network SRE practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and improve the existing network data landscape, data quality and integrations.
  • Develop and enhance NetBox for enterprise network inventory and lifecycle management.
  • Establish NetBox as the trusted source of record for network assets, topology, IP addressing and metadata.
  • Design and implement automated network discovery and data-assurance capabilities.
  • Define and maintain NetBox data models, naming conventions, taxonomy and hierarchical structures.
  • Integrate NetBox with network management and assurance platforms, including Cisco Catalyst Centre.
  • Develop integrations between NetBox and ServiceNow CMDB/ITSM.
  • Automate network discovery, compliance reporting, auditing and configuration validation.
  • Expand network automation using Python, Ansible, REST APIs and, where applicable, Terraform.
  • Develop reusable automation workflows, operational runbooks and documentation.
  • Perform network device baselining and configuration validation.
  • Improve network monitoring, data quality and operational reliability.
  • Define KPIs, SLIs and SLOs to support Network SRE practices.
  • Identify opportunities for proactive monitoring, fault prevention and self-healing automation.
  • Work closely with Operations, Security, Architecture, Platform and ITSM teams.

Required Technical Skills

  • Network Source of Truth / IPAM / DCIM
  • Hands-on experience with one or more of: NetBox, Nautobot, IP Fabric, Auvik, SolarWinds, Device42, Infoblox
  • Core Networking: Routing & Switching, TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, MPLS, VLANs, WAN/LAN, SD-WAN
  • Network Security Fundamentals
  • Network Automation: Python, Ansible, REST APIs, Terraform (desirable), PowerShell (desirable), Git / GitHub (desirable)
  • Monitoring & Observability: Experience with platforms such as SolarWinds, Auvik, IP Fabric, LogicMonitor, Dynatrace, Azure Monitor, Grafana

Preferred Certifications

  • Cisco CCNP / CCIE
  • Juniper JNCIS / JNCIP
  • AWS Advanced Networking Specialty

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will have strong experience in enterprise networking, NetBox/Network Source of Truth, network automation and data governance, with the ability to work across network operations, architecture, security and ITSM teams. Experience with ServiceNow CMDB integration, Python/Ansible automation and Network SRE concepts would be highly valuable.
