We are looking for a creative, fast-moving Social Media Manager to take ownership of our visual storytelling and ensure that social media is an integral part of our campaigning and growth ambitions. You will be someone who can plan and execute a social media campaign from beginning to end, pulling together contributions from different teams to turn complex political topics into engaging Instagram Reels, TikToks, X posts and graphics.

Key responsibilities:

  • Plan and execute a social media content strategy to support campaign success, membership growth and audience cut-through.
  • Ensure that engaging social media content is an integral part of campaign creation, external comms, membership growth and grassroots engagement.
  • Video Production, including original filming, editing, captioning, and sound design.
  • Create explainer-style videos on complex topics and campaigns.
  • Capture and edit reactive content tied to news cycles and political announcements.
  • Repurpose speeches, media appearances, and campaign events into short‑form video assets.
  • Maintain our visual brand guidelines across all platforms.
  • Design static social graphics (quote cards, statistics, campaign posters, carousels) for Instagram, X, LinkedIn, Facebook and YouTube.
  • Produce simple data visualisations (e.g. trade figures, polling on public attitudes to the EU).
  • Support the Digital Manager with graphics for campaign landing pages and other digital assets.

Person specification:

  • Proven experience producing engaging video content for social media.
  • Proficiency in mobile‑first editing and graphic design.
  • Ability to write clear, punchy copy for captions and on‑screen text.
  • Ability to work fast – turning around a reaction Reel within hours of a news announcement.
  • Demonstrable interest in UK politics and the UK‑EU future relationship.
