The University of Bath has been awarded £4.35 million from the UK Global Talent Fund to attract exceptional talent to the UK. Grants start in the 2025/26 academic year and will run for five years. Details to submit an expression of interest can be found at the following link.

Please note that to be eligible, applicants must have been working outside the UK in the last two years.

Membrane Science and Technology research at Bath is thriving, with 8 academic members of staff, 20 researchers and a permanent technician. The group shares laboratories for membrane fabrication, characterisation and testing with state‑of‑the‑art equipment and has a portfolio of major grants in the field, as well as consolidated industrial collaborations and a number of start‑ups arising from our work.

The research group is looking for outstanding early career researchers willing to start their first independent academic appointment in the areas of:

  • Membranes for clean energy (hydrogen production and purification, batteries, critical elements recovery and purification, gas purification)
  • Membranes for life sciences (pharma manufacturing, drug purification and concentration, precision fermentation and cultured meat)

This call does not include recruitment in the areas of membranes for water treatment.

In addition to the 5‑years grant from the University and other institutional support, access will be granted to the shared membrane facilities, mentoring and career development support, as well as access to the national and international network of industrial and academic partners.
