ABOUT US: Vaccination UK has been commissioned by NHS England since 2015 to provide school aged immunisations, including Influenza, to pupils across numerous counties across England and all boroughs of North London. We are also commissioned by NHS England in North London to provide outbreak response in the event of a vaccine preventable disease outbreak, and we provide the infant BCG programme to newborns in North London. Our mission is to fight disease and save lives by making prevention and treatment easy, accessible and safe.

  • Contract: Full Time - Permanent
  • Working Hours: Monday to Friday 09.00 to 17.00 with flexibility

JOB PURPOSE: The postholder will be responsible for ensuring Vaccination UK’s immunisation programme is compliant with CQC guidance in accordance with the fundamental standards, and immunisation nurses work to a high clinical standard.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage and provide leadership to Nurses and Allied Healthcare Professionals.
  • Ensure school-aged children vaccinated within the programme are treated professionally, with patient safety as the highest priority.
  • Monitor vaccination programmes to ensure safe delivery and adherence to high clinical standards.
  • Support Senior Management in delivering the vaccination programme by maintaining regular contact with clinical staff to ensure compliance with Vaccination UK policies and standards.
  • Act as the primary contact for nurses regarding clinical queries and safeguarding concerns, escalating as appropriate to the Clinical Director.
  • Address safeguarding concerns raised by staff and participate in quarterly supervision provided by Vaccination UK.
  • Provide support to Senior Management on all compliance-related matters, ensuring operations meet regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive records for clinical supervision, staff training, recruitment, incidents, and complaints in line with CQC standards.
  • Participate in CQC inspections and ensure evidence-based practice and compliance are consistently achieved.
  • Oversee rota management to ensure safe staffing levels and appropriate skill mix.
  • Conduct annual performance development reviews for clinical staff, assessing competencies and ensuring completion of clinical inductions.
  • Work with Senior Management to record, investigate, and resolve clinical incidents and complaints, ensuring organisational learning and patient safety.
  • Assist in the recruitment, compliance checks, and induction of new nursing staff, including allocation of mentors.
  • Plan and deliver formal clinical supervision sessions with immunisation nurses at least every three months.
  • Collaborate with Local Leadership Teams, Commissioners, Public Health England (PHE) Borough Teams, and Integrated Care Boards (ICBs).
  • Manage staff sickness, return-to-work interviews, and annual leave.
  • Lead on nursing audits, PGD compliance, and incident and risk assessment management.
  • Support initiatives to improve the Net Promoter Score (NPS) and participate in health promotion activities.
  • Provide clinical supervision, teaching, training, and educational opportunities to staff.
  • Deputise for the Clinical Director when required.
  • Undertake other duties commensurate with the role and in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Work in collaboration with Clinical Leads, Team Leads & admin to plan and execute local Health Promotion initiatives for all programmes.
  • To support PM and TL in Headteacher meetings within schools.

  • NMC registered.
  • Nursing qualification.
  • Safeguarding trained.

  • Managerial / Leadership.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Efficiently manage documentation and record-keeping essential.
  • Good IT skills.
  • High levels of competence, judgement, integrity, personal and professional accountability.
