Join Guidant and Airbus. We are collaborating with Airbus, the world's largest aircraft manufacturer, to find skilled Aircraft Fitters for the Broughton site within the Wing Build Production section.
If you have experience in manufacturing or engineering roles, you are invited to join us at Airbus to work on aircraft wings, some of the most technically intricate components of an aircraft.
About The Role- Engage in assembly, general fittings, and component installations
- Conduct repairs on metallic and composite materials
- Occasionally work in confined spaces or at heights
- Double Days: Week 1 - 06:00 to 13:10, Week 2 - 13:30 to 20:40 (Monday to Friday)
- Nights: 20:45 to 06:00 (Monday to Thursday)
We seek individuals who have completed an Aerospace or Engineering full Apprenticeship, including specialties such as:
- Mechanical Fitting
- Sheet Metal Worker
- Shipwright
- Automotive Technician
- Maintenance Fitter/Electrician
- Aero Jig Fitter
- Toolmaker
- Machinist
- Fitter/Turner
- Composite Repair Specialist
- Heating/Ventilation Technician (e.g., Gas Safe registered)
The Broughton site designs, tests, and manufactures wings for all Airbus commercial aircraft except the A220, supporting about 9,000 UK jobs. The site employs around 6,000 highly skilled personnel, with a proud aerospace manufacturing history spanning over 80 years, including aircraft like the Wellington, Lancaster, Mosquito, and Comet.
