Location: Filton

Contract: 12 months (likely extension)

Hours: 35 per week, flexible within 7am-7pm

Clearance: BPSS to start; SC clearable required

Pay: ÂŁ28 Umbrella / ÂŁ20.93 PAYE

We are looking for a proactive Security Operations Support professional to join the security team at Airbus Filton, helping to protect people, assets and operations across a large and dynamic engineering and manufacturing site. This is an exciting opportunity to develop your security expertise while working closely with specialists across physical security, emergency response, fire safety and wider cyber and corporate security networks. What You’ll Be Doing

  • Supporting the implementation of protective security activities in line with established policies and frameworks.
  • Assisting with the management of security systems, fire service providers and third‑party contractors.
  • Helping to identify, document and resolve security, fire and systems‑related risks and issues.
  • Contributing to emergency response planning and participating in incident investigations.
  • Providing security and fire‑related input into project planning, operational activities and on‑site events.
  • Auditing suppliers to ensure contractual compliance.
  • Identifying opportunities for improvement and supporting innovation across physical security, systems and fire safety.
  • Acting as a first point of contact for specific security system faults.
  • Preparing reports, maintaining documentation and ensuring consistent adherence to Filton safety rules.

About The Team

The Filton Security team is a friendly, supportive and highly skilled group who work together to keep the site safe, secure and operational. The team covers:

  • Fire safety, risk assessments and emergency planning
  • Confidentiality and safeguarding of people, information and assets
  • Visitor and contractor safety
  • Specialist areas including aviation security and emergency response

You will have access to a broad network of security colleagues across the UK and will be encouraged to build your knowledge as you grow into the role.

Essential Experience

  • Experience in a corporate or industrial security environment, or transferable operational experience.
  • Strong understanding of security risk management principles.
  • Skills in risk analysis, emergency planning and structured problem‑solving.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills, with the ability to assess complex issues.
  • Experience engaging and managing stakeholders.
  • Competence with Microsoft and Google Workspace tools.
  • Ability to coordinate projects across multiple teams and functions.

Desirable

  • Security management qualifications (Level 5 or similar).
  • Experience working with third‑party contractors.
  • PRINCE2 or equivalent project management accreditation.
  • Strong analytical and critical‑thinking skills.
