About The Role
Are you passionate about making a real difference in people's lives? We're urgently seeking Support and Personal Care Workers to join our dedicated care team, supporting Hertfordshire County Council's Residential and Supported Living Units. In this role, you'll help individuals live as independently as possible, offering vital support to those with physical and mental health challenges.
You'll Work With Service Users Who May Be:
- Recovering from illness or surgery
- Living with learning disabilities or dementia
- Experiencing sensory impairments, epilepsy, or other complex needs
What We're Looking For:
- Compassionate, reliable individuals with a positive attitude
- Strong communication skills and a respectful approach
- Experience in personal care and domestic support
- Ability to work flexibly across 30-40 hours per week
- Access to transport to travel across Hertfordshire (including Hoddesdon, Watford, Hemel, St Albans, and more)
Your Responsibilities:
- Support with personal hygiene, dressing, and toileting
- Assist with mobility and physical therapy
- Administer medication (training provided)
- Prepare meals and assist with feeding
- Provide companionship and emotional support
- Escort service users to appointments or activities
- Carry out domestic tasks such as cleaning and shopping
- Write handover notes and report concerns appropriately
Requirements:
- Minimum 6 months UK care experience
- Fluent English (spoken and written)
- Commitment to health & safety and safeguarding
- Physically fit and emotionally resilient
- Willingness to undergo Enhanced DBS checks and join the Update Service
