Our client, a trusted partner of the UK Ministry of Defence and a leader in defence innovation, is seeking a dedicated Health & Safety professional to join the Facilities Management team. This opportunity arises due to internal progression and offers the chance to work closely with the Contractor Compliance & CDM Manager. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring all Facilities Project activities and contractor operations are delivered safely and in line with best practice, within a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
As a Contractor Compliance & CDM Officer, you will support the Facilities Management team while contributing to wider business projects. The role involves building strong contractor relationships and ensuring safe, compliant project delivery. This is a hybrid role within a 37-hour work week, typically involving 34 days on-site and 12 days working from home to support flexibility and work/life balance.
Key Responsibilities
- Brings extensive experience working in construction environments, with a strong understanding of site safety and operational protocols.
- Conducts focused Health & Safety inspections, ensuring timely closure of actions and continuous compliance.
- Skilled in gathering and analysing data to produce clear, actionable reports and insights.
- Knowledgeable in auditing processes, contributing to internal assurance and continuous improvement.
- Adept at identifying issues and implementing practical, effective solutions to support safe project delivery.
- Strong communicator with the ability to influence stakeholders and promote a positive safety culture.
- Provides expert guidance to ensure business activities remain compliant with relevant legislation and standards.
- Experienced in conducting investigations and delivering detailed reports with supporting statistical analysis.
What do you need?:
- Holds a minimum of a NEBOSH General or Construction Certificate, demonstrating a solid foundation in health and safety principles.
- Ideally qualified to Level 6 Diploma standard, reflecting advanced knowledge and professional development in the field.
- Possesses a valid CSCS Card, ensuring compliance with site safety requirements.
- Desirable to have an auditing qualification (e.g. ISO 45001 or ISO 14001), supporting internal compliance and continuous improvement efforts.
