Strategic Financial Affairs Coordinator

The Strategic Financial Affairs Coordinator supports the Strategic Financial Affairs department by maintaining high-quality data, systems and knowledge resources and providing analytical research support, ensuring financial information is accurate, accessible and effectively organised to support the delivery of valuable insights and services to EFC members,

Core Responsibilities

The role’s responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

1.System management (MRM and EFC Hub)

• Act as the main point of contact for data entry, maintenance and record updates within EFC’s MRM system for all Finance-related contacts, requests and interactions.
• Ensure data accuracy, consistency and proper documentation within the MRM system.
• Work closely with EFC’s Membership and ICT departments to improve system usage, structure and overall capacity.

2.Data management and reporting

• Manage, analyse and report on financial and stakeholder data, with a strong focus on improving the quality, structure and usability of Finance datasets (e.g. translating clubs’ annual accounts in PDF format into actionable financial data).
• Work closely with the EFC Football Financial Analyst to produce clear, consistent reports and analytical outputs.
• Extract data from multiple sources and propose efficient storage and reporting solutions to support responses to club requests and internal analytical needs.
• Prepare financial datasets and background information on football industry stakeholders to support meetings and strategic discussions.
• Collaborate with various EFC departments to develop and maintain a data and knowledge centre, ensuring that finance-related information and other relevant content are structured and presented in a way that supports the needs of the Strategic Financial Affairs department and ultimately delivers tangible value for EFC members.

3.Knowledge management

• Ensure proper documentation, structuring and storage of all Strategic Financial Affairs content on the Members’ Hub.
• Work closely with the Membership department to support effective content sharing and member engagement.

4.Research and services

• Provide analytical and research support to the Strategic Financial Affairs team in scoping and delivering high-quality financial services to EFC members.
• Provide analytical and operational support on other Strategic Financial Affairs projects, Working Groups, task forces, events and other departmental initiatives.
• Provide research support on football finance trends and broader industry developments.

Experience & Skills

• 2-3 years of experience in football, sport, finance, consulting, analytics or a related field would be an advantage.
• An interest in football and its financial landscape is a must.
• Strong proficiency in advanced Excel and PowerPoint; experience with data visualisation tools (e.g. Power BI, Power Query).
• Proactively explores new technologies, including AI, and looks for innovative ways to improve processes, insights and ways of working.
• Solid understanding of databases; technical skills such as SQL and Python would be a strong asset but not a mandatory skill.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
• Excellent English level is a must – any additional language is welcomed.
