Responsibilities
- Record, check, and post a large volume of varied transactions daily, verifying accuracy and ensuring adherence to Donors and Bank policies.
- Check bank and donor‑funded invoices against contracts, agreements or policies to ensure accuracy and compliance with terms.
- Provide guidance to the Bank's Budget Officers and staff to ensure policies, practices and guidelines are followed.
- Liaise with internal and external clients to exchange information, clarify facts and resolve queries and issues.
- Check and post parked journals to financial accounts, ensuring proper authorizations and correct G/L accounts, cost centres and WBS elements.
- Analyse, review and process travel and expense claims for the whole Bank, ensuring policy adherence and referring inconsistencies to Budget Officers.
- Prepare monthly account reconciliations and liaise with internal parties to clear outstanding items for accurate budget recording.
- Accountable for the monthly financial reconciliation of the BAS and Investment Council Offices in countries of operation.
- Responsible for the financial overview of Resident Offices.
- Oversee the cost recovery process for the whole Bank, reviewing client cost‑sharing agreements to identify agreed cost recovery terms and analysing legal agreements.
- Prepare and submit claims to the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office for recovery of VAT, IPT, CCL and APD taxes.
- Authorise donor‑funded requests for payments and ensure availability of funds in donor‑funded accounts prior to disbursement.
- Enhance and implement continuous improvements to current procedures and processes.
- Produce reports and data summaries to support banking activities.
- Provide training to new team members.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree level education.
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving and numerical skills.
- Previous experience in the finance sector, with exposure to interpretation of contractual documentation.
- Desirable experience with SAP.
- Strong computer skills (Windows, Outlook, Word, Excel).
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including tact and diplomacy.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Fluency in English (verbal and written); additional languages beneficial.
