About the Role
The Quality Systems Manager supports the Technical and Operational Management teams in developing, maintaining, and continuously improving the Quality Management System (QMS). This ensures compliance with BRCGS standards, legal obligations, and customer requirements, while driving innovation, continuous improvement, and value engineering initiatives across the business.
Responsibilities
- Quality Management System & Compliance
- Lead the development, maintenance, and improvement of the QMS in line with BRCGS, AIB, and customer Codes of Practice.
- Conduct regular gap analyses; implement and monitor corrective actions.
- Maintain up-to-date technical procedures, supplier approval documentation, and product specifications.
- Manage supplier assessments, risk assessments, and process control documentation.
- Ensure robust traceability systems are in place.
- Actively involve in customer and third party.
- Ensure QMS is ready for unannounced audits.
- Develop and maintain site CAPA system.
- Lead product audits, GMP checks, and non-conformance management.
- Support site audits (customer, regulatory, and third-party) and customer visits.
- Oversee external lab testing and compliance with customer/regulatory standards.
Safety & Compliance
- Promote a culture of safety by investigating accidents and near misses to conclusion.
- Ensure compliance with group, legislative, and customer safety standards.
- Proactively identify and mitigate health and safety risks.
- Lead by example with a zero-tolerance approach to unsafe practices.
Leadership & Training
- Train, mentor, and develop Quality Auditors and other team members.
- Ensure adequate resourcing and effective deployment of QMS activities.
- Provide technical leadership and troubleshooting support to resolve quality issues.
Communication & Behaviours
- Foster effective two-way communication across teams and stakeholders.

Qualifications
- 2–4 years’ experience in the food industry (quality, production, or hygiene).
- Proven Quality Systems Management experience with knowledge of QMS architecture.
- HACCP training (Level 3 minimum).
- Supervisory/leadership experience desirable.
- HND or Degree in Food Science, Biological Sciences, or related discipline.
