A proactive and hands-on Hygiene Supervisor who will drive hygiene excellence, employee capability, and continuous improvement across our manufacturing site. This role will work closely with Operations, Technical, Training and Health & Safety teams to enhance cleaning standards, support workforce development, improve operational performance, and ensure compliance with food safety, GMP and health & safety requirements.
Spending the majority of time on the factory floor, you will coach and support colleagues, identify improvement opportunities, implement sustainable solutions, and help maintain an audit-ready environment that reflects Europe Snacks' values of Entrepreneurship, Excellence and Care.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Champion a strong culture of Health & Safety, GMP and hygiene compliance, ensuring adherence to site procedures, risk assessments and safe working practices.
- Develop, deliver and maintain effective training programmes, SOPs, risk assessments and coaching materials to build employee capability and address competence gaps.
- Conduct regular factory-based observations to monitor behaviours, standards and operational performance, providing guidance and support where required.
- Drive hygiene excellence by ensuring cleaning activities, changeovers and post-clean start-ups are completed to agreed standards and deliver optimum operational performance.
- Support the management and continuous improvement of Hygiene Instruction Cards (HICs), cleaning schedules and digital hygiene systems.
- Work collaboratively with Operations, Technical, Training and Health & Safety teams to resolve issues, improve standards and implement best practice.
- Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives through data collection, analysis, problem-solving and employee engagement.
- Support factory investigations, root cause analysis and corrective action activities to improve operational and hygiene performance.
- Promote and maintain an audit-ready environment, ensuring GMP standards, cleaning schedules and documentation are consistently achieved.
- Verify that equipment, production areas and cleaning processes are compliant, safe and free from contamination and foreign body risks before production recommences.
- Escalate hygiene, food safety and health & safety concerns promptly, driving sustainable solutions and preventing repeat issues.
- Act as a visible role model on the factory floor, leading by example and fostering a culture of accountability, ownership and continuous improvement.
Role Profile: Approximately 80% factory-based and 20% office-based, providing hands-on support to operations while driving improvements in hygiene, training and site standards.

Qualifications and Skills
- Leadership skills and demonstrable ability to manage and develop a high performing teams
- Experience working in FMCG/Food sector (especially manufacturing)
- Experience of working in a lean operating environment
- Literacy / Numeracy to national Level 2 Standard
- Computer literate with sound understanding of Microsoft Office application and systems
- Strong organisational and interpersonal skills including excellent communication skills (both oral and written)
- Self-driven and results oriented. Has a positive outlook and a clear focus on high quality standards
- Tough and assertive in a positive way, with an ability to make decisions based on their own sound judgment.
