About the Role: We are seeking a talented Multi-Skilled Engineer to play a crucial role in maintaining and enhancing our production operations. In this role, you will be responsible for planned, preventative, and reactive maintenance, ensuring that our equipment performs optimally to meet business objectives. You will work closely with operations and cross-functional teams to drive efficiency, reliability, and continuous improvement in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct planned, preventative, and reactive maintenance to reduce downtime and improve plant performance.
  • Diagnose and rectify mechanical, electrical, and automation faults efficiently.
  • Carry out installations, refurbishments, and upgrades in line with business and regulatory standards.
  • Improve plant availability, reliability, and efficiency by implementing best engineering practices.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to drive operational excellence and innovation.
  • Work towards achieving a ‘World Class’ standard in maintenance through benchmarking and audits.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, reports, and documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with health & safety, food hygiene, and environmental regulations.
  • Collaborate with production, quality, and other departments to optimize operations.
  • Monitor plant conditions and proactively report any defects or areas for improvement.
  • Manage spares and inventory, ensuring essential parts are available when needed.

Essential Qualifications & Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years of engineering experience in a food manufacturing or FMCG environment.
  • Formal engineering qualification to at least City & Guilds Level 3, NVQ Level 3, or equivalent in mechanical or electrical disciplines.
  • Strong understanding of health & safety protocols.
  • Basic food hygiene knowledge and awareness of industry regulations.
  • Strong numerical and literacy skills.
  • Good manual dexterity and practical problem-solving abilities.
  • Basic PC literacy, including familiarity with maintenance management systems.

Desirable Skills & Certifications:

  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations certification.
  • PLC fault-finding and programming experience.
