A leading financial institution is seeking a qualified solicitor (England & Wales) with approximately 1–3 years’ post-qualification experience, trained at a top 50 UK law firm. Prior in-house experience is not essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide legal support across a broad range of banking and commercial matters, including but not limited to:
- Drafting and negotiating commercial contracts with third-party suppliers, incorporating GDPR and DORA provisions where appropriate
- Preparing and reviewing non-disclosure agreements (NDAs)
- Advising on property finance matters and developing legal expertise in:
- Project finance
- Trade and receivables finance
- Islamic finance
- Lombard loans
- Secondary market participations (funded and risk)
- BAFT trade risk participations
- ISDA and GMRA documentation
Candidate Profile:
- Qualified solicitor (England & Wales) with circa 1–3 years’ PQE
- Strong drafting and negotiation skills, particularly in commercial contracts
- Demonstrable interest in banking and finance law, with the flexibility to take on a broad remit
- Proven ability to manage transactions and provide timely, practical legal advice
- Capable of working effectively with internal stakeholders and external counsel (both UK-based and international)
- Able to update and maintain standard legal documentation in line with regulatory and business requirements
- Commercially aware, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
