Location: Leicester / Hybrid. This is a hybrid role that requires the successful candidate to be in our Leicester HQ office 1-2 days per week.
About the role: Europcar Mobility Group is looking for an experienced Payroll Administrator to join our team at our Leicester HQ. As a Payroll Administrator, you'll be responsible for the accurate and timely processing of payroll for 2200 employees across multiple locations in the UK and Ireland. This role goes beyond basic data entry; it requires a detail-oriented individual who understands the complexities of payroll, compliance, and the importance of employee satisfaction. Main duties:
- Manage the complete payroll process for employees across multiple sites in the UK and Ireland, ensuring accuracy and adherence to deadlines.
- Maintain meticulous payroll records, updating employee information, salary changes benefits, and deductions promptly and accurately.
- Ensure strict compliance with all relevant UK and Irish payroll regulations, employment laws, and company policies. Stay informed about legislative changes and implement necessary updates.
- Act as a point of contact for payroll-related queries from employees, providing clear and helpful resolutions in a timely manner.
- Work closely with HR and Finance teams to ensure accurate processing of payroll changes (new hires, terminations, promotions, etc.).
- Accurately calculate and process various payments, including bonuses, commissions, overtime and other applicable adjustments.
- Manage all statutory deductions, including income tax, national insurance contributions and pension contributions.
- Prepare payroll reports for management, providing insights as required.
- Assist with all year-end payroll reporting and filing requirements, including P60s, P45s, P11Ds, and any other required tax filings.
- Become highly proficient in our payroll and HR systems (ResourceLink and Workday) contributing to data integrity and efficient processing.
Key skills and attributes required:
- Previous experience in payroll administration, preferably within a multi-site or corporate environment.
- Strong understanding of UK payroll regulations and compliance requirements.
- Knowledge of Irish payroll regulations (PAYE, PRSI, USC) would be a significant advantage.
- Experience with payroll software such as Workday, ResourceLink or similar systems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required. Familiarity with reporting tools (e.g., Business Objects, Cognos) is a plus.
- Excellent attention to detail, strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to accuracy.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex payroll information clearly and concisely.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, meet strict deadlines, and work effectively under pressure.
- A desire to learn, develop new skills, and take on increasing responsibility within the payroll function.
- Ability to work as part of a team, supporting colleagues.
