The Role
As the Head of New Business, you will be responsible for leading and managing a high-performing new business team to secure and implement significant new corporate accounts. You will be a hands-on leader, directly responsible for winning new business while also empowering your team to achieve and exceed their targets. This is a critical leadership role that requires a strategic mindset, a strong sales background, and the ability to foster collaboration across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute the new business strategy to drive profitable revenue growth and market share.
- Direct Sales: Proactively identify and engage with potential clients, leading the sales cycle from initial contact to contract negotiation and closing new business deals. This includes targeting both larger corporate accounts and SMEs.
- Team Management: Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of new business managers to consistently meet and exceed sales targets. Conduct regular performance reviews, provide coaching, and ensure the team is equipped with the necessary tools and training to succeed.
- Sales Performance: Monitor and analyse sales metrics to track team performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement effective strategies to optimise results.
- Account Implementation: Work with internal departments to ensure the seamless implementation of new accounts, ensuring a smooth transition and a positive onboarding experience for new clients.
- Internal Collaboration: Engage with the car rental station network to foster a sales-oriented culture and ensure they are actively involved in identifying and pursuing corporate sales opportunities.
- Market Analysis: Stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and market shifts to identify new opportunities and maintain a competitive advantage.
- Financial Oversight and Reporting: Manage the new business budget and provide regular, detailed reports on sales pipelines, revenue forecasts, and performance against targets to the senior leadership team.
- CRM and Data Management: Oversee the effective use of the company's CRM system to track all sales activities, monitor team performance, and maintain a robust database of prospects and clients.
- Collaboration with Marketing and Product Teams: Work closely with the marketing team to develop targeted campaigns and lead-generation strategies. Collaborate with product and operations to ensure the company's offerings meet the needs of potential corporate clients.
- Identifying Market Opportunities: Proactively identify new market segments, geographic areas, and service offerings that represent growth opportunities for the business.
- Compliance: Work in accordance at all times with the Company’s code of conduct and ensure the team also complies with this code and that all relevant training is completed to provide full awareness.

Qualifications
- Proven experience in a senior new business or sales leadership role, preferably within the car rental, automotive, or a related service industry.
- Demonstrated track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets and leading successful sales teams.
- Strong experience in B2B sales, with a history of winning both large corporate accounts and SMEs.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to analyse data, identify trends, and make informed decisions.
- Exceptional leadership and team-building skills.
- Ability to travel as required.
