We are looking for
We are looking for an experienced, commercially focused Warehouse Resource Manager to lead site-wide labour planning. Working closely with operational leaders, you will ensure resources meet business demands, improve workforce flexibility, reduce agency reliance and maintain compliant labour practices. This is an opportunity to make a visible impact in a fast-paced warehouse operation.
What you will be doing:
- Create, develop and manage robust labour plans that support day-to-day 3PL warehouse operations, seasonal peaks and the site’s longer-term growth objectives.
- Analyse operational forecasts and customer volumes to accurately predict staffing requirements, ensuring the right resources are available to meet demand and maintain service levels.
- Optimise the deployment of the permanent workforce to improve efficiency, control labour costs and reduce reliance on overtime and temporary agency labour.
- Coordinate shift patterns, annual leave and contingency resource plans to maintain full operational coverage and respond effectively to unexpected changes in demand.
- Identify current and future skills gaps, working with operational leaders to develop cross-training and upskilling plans that build a more flexible, capable workforce.
- Build and manage effective relationships with agency suppliers, monitoring spends, service delivery, worker quality and compliance against agreed standards.
- Track and report on staffing levels, labour costs, attendance and productivity across all operational areas, using data to identify trends and recommend improvements.
- Ensure all workforce plans and labour practices remain compliant with employment legislation, company policies and health and safety requirements.
Our Ideal Person:
- Strong experience in labour planning and workforce optimisation within a fast-paced warehouse, logistics or operational environment, with the ability to balance service requirements, productivity and labour costs.
- Proven ability to create, implement and manage strategic workforce plans that respond to changing operational volumes, seasonal peaks and longer-term business growth.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the confidence to interpret workforce data, identify trends and turn insight into practical resource-planning decisions.
- Demonstrable experience of reducing agency dependency, controlling labour spend and improving workforce flexibility through effective deployment, cross-training and resource planning.
- A sound understanding of employment legislation, workforce compliance and governance requirements, with the ability to ensure labour practices meet company and regulatory standards.
- A confident and influential approach, with the ability to engage operational leaders, lead change and embed continuous improvements across teams and working practices.
