The Teaching Coordinator is responsible for the smooth running of the academic department within their assigned centre. It is their duty to provide comprehensive care and supervision for both teachers and students, adhering diligently to company policies. The Teaching Coordinator must ensure the constant high-quality service that our customers have come to expect. The centre must run in strict accordance with our established policies, procedures and the high standards set forth by the British Council.

Requirements:

  • Full-time onsite availability in the centre Monday-Friday, 8am – 2 or 3pm from 06/07/2026 until 28/08/2026 (Bournemouth), from 28/06/2026 until 14/08/2026 (Winchester), from 06/07/2026 until 31/07/2026 (Exeter), from 06/07/2026 until 07/08/2026 (Southend-on-Sea).
  • Willingness to check emails during weekday evenings and weekends to address any potential teacher absences or urgent matters.
  • Part-time availability from 25/05/2026 to 05/07/2025 (5 hrs per week approx.) working from home.
  • University degree – DELTA or equivalent (Level 7, Master’s) is preferred, CELTA or equivalent is essential.
  • Right to work in the UK.
  • 2 up-to-date references (which will be checked).
  • Participation in Safeguarding training (provided by us).
  • DBS certificate or police clearance (not older than 1 year).
  • Excellent English language skills, ability to communicate in one or more additional language is a plus.
  • Good organisational and time-management skills, ability to work independently and under pressure.
  • Experience in leading and managing a team (ideally in an international context).
  • Experience in running a busy, international summer/holiday camp is a huge advantage.
  • Successfully completion of our pre-season training sessions as well as participation in the Destination Training in the Summer Centre (3 days before the opening of the season).

Responsibilities prior to the season:

  • Attend training sessions on all administration tasks to be ready to run the academic side in your centre to the company’s standards.
  • If necessary, help with the recruitment of teaching staff with the assistance of the Director of Studies.
  • Assist with the preparation, upgrade and production of curriculum materials.
  • Provide induction for all teaching staff in your centre (prior the season or on their first day).
  • Set up and manage communication systems that will be essential for the management of your teaching team during the season.
  • Meet and liaise with the management team of the summer camp.
  • Familiarise yourself with the company policies and procedures regarding safeguarding and student welfare.

Responsibilities during the main season:

  • Provide on-site induction prior the season or on teachers’ first day.
  • Train teachers to use the App to monitor student attendance.
  • Provide support and guidance for teaching staff in the centre.
  • Ensure the availability of materials for all teachers.
  • Host and record weekly teacher meetings.
  • Carry out lesson observations and brief feedback sessions with the teaching staff and write references for teaching staff at the end of the season.
  • Maintain academic administration (e.g. class registers, class lists, records of work).
  • Plan and allocate teaching hours by producing a weekly teaching timetable.
  • Manage student testing, class placement, feedback, reporting, certificate completion.
  • Take immediate action on any complaints and any damage reports, reporting to the Centre Manager.
  • Work closely with the Management team (Centre Manager) and Director of Studies to ensure academic part is well-integrated.
  • Implement and have knowledge of our safeguarding policies and procedures including our guidelines on safer recruitment.

Remuneration:

  • Employees will receive £500 weekly (to be invoiced in arrears).
  • If the position is residential, employees will get £408 weekly and full-board accommodation.
  • Any face-to-face pre-season training sessions will be paid at the rate of the current UK statutory minimum wage and added to the first pay run.
  • Travel expenses may be paid upon agreement and dependent on location.
  • On-site parking available.
  • Free tea coffee and refreshments available during break time.
