Overview
As an Index Solutions professional, you will design and tailor index strategies while collaborating with sales to target the Italian market. You’ll translate client needs into practical index rules and solutions, manage the end-to-end index creation process, and ensure a smooth handover to operations. You’ll engage with banks, asset managers, and insurers to showcase capabilities and drive commercial opportunities. This role blends quantitative analysis with client-facing influence to shape market-ready index offerings.
Responsibilities
- Design indices and back-test methodologies, including data analysis and rule creation
- Develop thematic and systematic index strategies aligned with client needs
- Collaborate with Index Sales to cover the Italian market and identify commercial opportunities
- Support client meetings and presentations with banks, asset managers, insurers, and other institutions
- Build and maintain relationships with Italian clients and provide detailed index-rule explanations
- Support development of new index solutions tailored to the Italian market
- Ensure precision throughout the index creation process and coordinate handover to operations
Key requirements
- Advanced Python (essential)
- Proficiency in Italian and English
- SQL and database architecture knowledge (intermediate)
- Excel proficiency
- Familiarity with Bloomberg, Reuters, FactSet
- Strong understanding of financial markets and Italian market landscape
- Client-facing experience and ability to translate client needs into index solutions
- 2–3 years in indexation, portfolio construction, or related quantitative role
- Prior exposure to Italian financial market participants (strongly preferred)
