Euroimmun UK is a subsidiary of Euroimmun, part of the Revvity group, and has been supplying immunodiagnostics products to the UK market since the year 2000. Originally based in South Wales, all operations were moved in 2013 to Wimbledon, London, where the International Training Centre (ITC) is located. The services supplied include diagnostic test kits and automated systems as well as training, after-sales support and instrument maintenance. The main disease areas covered by Euroimmun products are autoimmunity, infectious serology, endocrinology and allergy, although test systems are also offered for antigen detection and molecular genetic diagnostics.
Role Overview
A position has become available for an experienced Field Service Engineer with IT knowledge. You will join a small service team who are responsible for all instruments and installations, including laboratory network solutions. Reporting to the National Service Manager, you will be predominantly based in the Midlands, ideally around Birmingham, allowing regular travel to customers in field and to the Wimbledon office. Together with the rest of the team you will cover all aspects of service support including, but not limited to, installations, services and breakdowns. This role requires availability to travel at short notice, including to other territories and with overnight stays, to ensure that all our territories are covered at times of specific projects, installations or annual leave/sickness of other service engineers. Extensive training is offered both in the UK and abroad at our company sites (Germany, France). Shortly after joining you will spend up to 4 weeks training in Germany and further trainings will be scheduled at a later date.
Job Role & Key Responsibilities
- On‑site instrument maintenance, repair and troubleshooting
- Telephone and hotline support for instrument issues
- Instrument installation and decommissioning
- Installation & support of laboratory IT/network solutions (LIMS/middleware)
- Act as a point of contact for all instrument related enquiries and work collaboratively with colleagues both in the UK and overseas
- Maintain close liaison with the Commercial Team
- Train customers and colleagues in the use of our instruments and software
- Build and maintain high standards of customer care and professionalism
- Monitor own spare parts inventory and ensure appropriate stock is maintained
- Software and applications support
- Completion of all admin requirements, timely and accurately in line with company policies and external quality control requirements
- Adherence to company’s KPIs and policies
- Visit customers regularly
- Adherence to corporate environmental sustainability to minimise the impact of business activities on the environment
- Any other duties as necessitated by the business
Qualifications & Experience
- An electronic or mechanical engineering qualification, BTEC, HNC etc.
- An IT/computer science qualification preferred
- Experience working with instrumentation, ideally in a laboratory environment; experience with IT information systems, preferably in a hospital environment
- A keen interest in medical diagnostics and associated products, with a desire to develop a career in this field
