We deliver commercial forestry operations across the UK, including harvesting, woodland establishment, forest roads, and timber transport. This is an entry-level operational role offering real practical experience from day one across our extensive portfolios in Wales and the Marches.
Role Overview
You will support the management team in day-to-day forestry operations across active sites, gaining practical experience in all aspects of forestry including timber harvesting, woodland establishment, forest infrastructure, and site surveying. You will work alongside experienced forestry professionals and contractors, developing your skills through hands-on involvement in commercial forestry operations. You will also receive in-house training and exposure to GIS mapping, operational recording, and wider business systems used in the forest industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Support harvesting, planting, and forest infrastructure operations on site
- Carry out site inspections, quality checks, and operational data recording
- Assist with woodland creation and restocking projects
- Support contractor and machine operator activity on active sites
- Assist with timber haulage and site logistics
- Maintain accurate site records, maps, and documentation
- Report health & safety, environmental, or operational issues
Training and support will be provided to introduce the successful applicant to Company systems and procedures.
What We Are Looking For
- Degree (or soon to graduate) in Forestry or related land discipline
- Interest in commercial, production-focused forestry operations
- Comfortable working outdoors in all conditions
- Strong attention to detail and data recording skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365
- Knowledge of Land Management software desirable but not essential
- Excellent time management and organisational skills
- Practical experience (placements/fieldwork) desirable but not essential
- Willingness to travel regularly across Wales and the Marches
- Full UK driving licence (essential)
