The predicted salary is between 70000 - 90000 £ per year.
Working hours are Monday - Friday, 9am - 5pm. Regular travel across the UK is required. As Sales Director, you will spearhead the growth agenda across the UK Food Microbiology, Food Chemistry, Waters and Consultancy/Risk businesses to capture new customers, new markets, and new testing opportunities. You will develop and execute a targeted commercial strategy aligned with the needs of the UK Food and Waters testing industry and manage a strong pipeline of sales opportunities as well as improving the customer on-boarding process.
Job Responsibilities
- Lead the development and execution of Eurofins UK’s new business development strategy to accelerate revenue growth across all food testing service lines.
- Own the commercial pipeline and ensure healthy funnel generation across all growth segments.
- Own the development and execution of Eurofins Food & Water Testing UK's pricing strategy to support sustainable growth, profitability, and competitive positioning.
- Lead pricing decisions for large contracts, frameworks, and multi-site agreements, balancing commercial competitiveness with operational feasibility and margin protection.
- Drive year-on-year growth, improved profitability, and enhanced customer lifetime value.
- Ensure strong commercial governance, deal qualification, pricing discipline, and contract approval processes.
- Provide market intelligence and customer insight into service development, pricing strategy, and operational planning.
- Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team of national Business Development Managers and support resource elsewhere in the business.
- Embed a strong performance culture with clear KPIs, CRM discipline, and robust forecasting accuracy.
- Support the team in complex negotiations, contract renewals, and high-value tender submissions.
- Develop and demonstrate Eurofins’ understanding of the Food Microbiology, Food Chemistry and Waters testing markets and support the development of technical and commercial skillset training across the team.
- Collaborate with Laboratory Operations and Cluster Directors, Customer Service, Technical Experts, and Marketing to ensure customer propositions are aligned with capability.
- Work with the extended Eurofins team to grow commercial excellence and customer focus.
- Represent Commercial within internal leadership forums, contributing to business planning and investment decisions.
Qualifications
- Knowledge and experience of new business development processes and customer relationship management.
- Proven, extensive experience in managing sales, customer service and/or in business development roles.
- Proven experience around how to develop and monitor a sales pipeline and the willingness to measure the effectiveness of sales activities.
- Experience in scoping new market opportunities and delivering strategic and tactical plans to deliver those opportunities.
- Passionate about sales and driving business growth.
- Effective communication skills both written and oral.
- A high level of attention to detail.
- The ability to work within a team.
