The predicted salary is between 30000 - 40000 £ per year.
Unfortunately, we are unable to offer sponsorship for this role. The purpose of this role will be to complete to the required quality standards, the extraction and analysis of samples for all food chemistry, contaminants and environmental methods using appropriate techniques. This is a full time role working 37.5 hours a week, Tuesday to Saturday 09:00 till 17:00. For the first month of training the shift pattern will be Monday to Friday 09:00 till 17:00.
Responsibilities include:
- Prepare, extract and analyse food samples in accordance with standards of quality and the requirements of ISO17025.
- Prepare calibration and quality standards to check method and instrument performance.
- Report and/or calculate results in accordance with methods of analysis.
- Plot and act on quality control data produced per batch.
- Maintain turnaround time at greater than 99%, ensuring that daily targets are achieved.
- Maintain stock levels of consumable items for methods being undertaken.
- Provide a high level of internal and external customer care.
- Ensure compliance with UK health and safety legislation and maintain a clean and tidy working environment.
- Ensure personal protective clothing equipment is worn in accordance with the Health & Safety policy.
- Work with the team to drive the laboratory forward through continuous improvement.
- Ensure knowledge of the Laboratory Quality Manual to ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and associated documents.
- Assist with operating best practices to meet the requirements of the UKAS 17025 accreditation standard.
- Participate in any developmental training as required in compliance with the Company Standard.
- Promote a professional image of the Company and comply with the Company's Equal Opportunities and Harassment Policies at all times, including work-related events outside normal working hours.
- Comply with all relevant Health, Safety and Security Regulations.
- Read and comply with Company rules, procedures, agreements and any notices displayed by the Company throughout your location.
Qualifications:
- Knowledge of UKAS.
- Good laboratory skills and practices, gained through higher education projects.
- Enthusiasm, energy and a driven outlook.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
