This is a full time, permanent position, working a flexible 37 hour week, Monday – Friday. As a BioAssay Senior Scientist you will perform routine, non-routine and stability testing activities of drug substances (Biologics) within the client’s Analytical Service Department.

Job Responsibilities

  • The purpose of this post is associated with the performance of routine, non-routine and stability testing activities of drug substances (Biologics) within the client’s Analytical Service Department.
  • You will perform routine, non-routine and stability testing of biologic drug substances using ELISA, cell-based potency assays and Biacore (SPR) methodologies, whilst coordinating assay activities, managing project priorities and timelines, and ensuring the generation of high-quality, accurate and GMP-compliant data delivered to client expectations.
  • You will utilise electronic laboratory systems and software, including electronic notebooks, to accurately document, analyse and report results, while tracking project progress, coordinating deliverables and ensuring all records, reports and regulatory documentation are completed in accordance with client, Eurofins and regulatory requirements.
  • You will support method development, validation, troubleshooting, trend analysis and OOS investigations, applying strong scientific expertise and project management skills to deliver study objectives, mitigate risks, resolve technical issues and contribute to the successful execution of client programmes.
  • You will act as a subject matter expert for bioanalytical techniques, providing technical guidance, mentoring and training to colleagues, supporting recruitment activities, leading assigned project workstreams and ensuring training compliance across the laboratory.
  • You will maintain laboratory operations through instrument maintenance, reagent and consumable management, housekeeping activities and the preparation, review and update of SOPs, protocols, reports and other controlled documentation, ensuring resources are effectively planned to support project and operational demands.
  • You will build strong relationships with internal and external clients by managing project communications, providing scientific updates, delivering exceptional customer service, driving continuous improvement initiatives, promoting a strong safety and quality culture, and supporting Eurofins' commitment to operational excellence and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

  • You will hold a degree or higher qualification in a relevant scientific discipline and possess experience within a bioanalytical, biopharmaceutical or GMP-regulated laboratory environment.
  • You will have extensive hands-on experience with biologics testing techniques, including ELISA, cell-based potency assays, Biacore (SPR), aseptic techniques and 96-well plate formats, ideally supporting pharmaceutical drug substance development and testing.
  • You will have expert knowledge of cell-based assays, including Vi-CELL and manual cell counting, luminescence-based assays and flow cytometry, with the ability to interpret complex datasets and provide scientifically sound conclusions.
  • You will have demonstrated experience operating within GMP and regulatory frameworks, with strong documentation skills, proficiency in electronic laboratory systems and MS Office, and a commitment to delivering accurate, high-quality results right first time.
  • You will have the ability to troubleshoot analytical methods and instrumentation, apply statistical analysis to support investigations and continuous improvement activities, and proactively identify opportunities to enhance efficiency, quality and customer outcomes.
  • You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with experience mentoring colleagues, acting as a technical subject matter expert, building strong client relationships and working collaboratively within a flexible, customer-focused Eurofins laboratory environment.
