This is a great opportunity to join Eurofins Wolverhampton team in Chemistry Sample Preparation, this is a fast paced standing role working with food samples. The purpose of this role is to prepare samples for analysis as specified by and in line with client requirements, ensuring smooth operation and flow of samples by following standard procedures currently in place.

This is a full time role working 37.5 hours per week – Monday to Friday from 09:00 – 17:00. For the first two weeks whilst training the shift pattern will be 08:00 – 16:00.

No laboratory experience is required for this role, full training is provided.

  • Complete the preparation of food/feed samples in accordance with standard operating procedures, standards of quality and the requirements of ISO17025.

  • Distribution of samples to laboratories for analysis.

  • To identify any anomalies and be able to take the necessary steps for a quick resolution.

  • Liaising with internal and external stakeholders in regards to sample/result queries via email and telephone, maintaining a professional approach at all times.

  • Adhering to documented procedures for all aspects of departmental work, ensuring that all relevant information concerning samples is recorded, that samples are handled correctly, and that all necessary records and quality data are maintained.

  • Maintain turnaround time at >99%, ensuring that daily targets are achieved.

  • Responsible for ensuring that UK health and safety legislation is maintained and helping to ensure that the working environment is kept in a clean and tidy manner.

  • Partake in any cross departmental developmental training to support and assist with the registration of chemistry samples.

  • Ensure personal protective clothing equipment is worn in accordance with the Health & Safety policy.

  • Work with the team to drive the laboratory forward through continuous improvement.

  • To assist through operating best practice in order to meet the requirements of the UKAS accreditation standard.

  • Experience working in a fast paced environment (Laboratory or production is preferable).

  • Enthusiasm, energy and a driven outlook.

  • Good communication skills both written and verbally.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.

  • GCSE in Maths, English, Chemistry or Biology, or above or equivalent.
