Eurofins PSS is seeking a passionate and dedicated experimental biologist or pharmacologist. This role is based on the client site in Cambridge, MA where they will support the client's genome sciences neuro‑immunology iPSC disease modeling group. The candidate will collaborate with scientists from Therapeutic Areas – including Immunology and Neuroscience – to identify and validate novel targets rooted in human genetics. The candidate will develop and apply advanced human model systems to better understand mechanisms of action and support target validation in disease biology. This role will focus on histology, multiplex immunofluorescence, and antibody validation to study drug effects in developing tissues and 3D in‑vitro model systems.

The successful candidate will collaborate with client colleagues across immunology, neuroscience, and pharmacology in a dynamic early discovery research environment. This is a hands‑on position requiring strong laboratory skills, rigorous documentation, data interpretation, and the ability to communicate findings and recommendations effectively. The candidate is expected to contribute both independently and collaboratively across teams.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to and help shape the client multiomics strategies.
  • Support maintenance and operation of histology instrumentation and related laboratory workflows.
  • Prepare histological slides from FFPE blocks, including embedding, microtomy, staining, and labeling.
  • Maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment as needed.
  • Design, optimize, and validate multiplex immunofluorescence panels.
  • Execute assigned projects efficiently and deliver high‑quality results on time.
  • Lead and contribute to cross‑functional initiatives that support target validation.

Qualifications

  • M.S. degree with 5+ years of hands‑on experience in histological techniques or Ph.D. with 1+ year of hands‑on experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in antibody validation using chromogenic and multiplex immunofluorescence staining methods.
  • Familiarity with the Leica BOND automated staining platform.
  • Strong expertise in high‑plex spatial biology and multiplex immunofluorescence workflows.
  • Experience with microscopy and modern slide scanners such as Leica GT 450, Akoya PhenoImager, or Zeiss Axioscan.
  • Proficiency with image visualization and analysis software such as HALO, QuPath, and ImageJ.
  • Strong critical thinking, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Curiosity, adaptability, and an interest in developing and applying novel technologies.

Authorization

Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship. Candidates currently living within a commutable distance of Cambridge, MA are encouraged to apply. The position is full‑time, Monday‑Friday, 8am‑5pm.
