Job Description We are currently recruiting for a Forensic Examiner to join our Toxicology team at our site in Heathrow. You will be responsible for carrying out routine laboratory analyses, undertaking general housekeeping duties, and providing administrative support for the Toxicology team.
Responsibilities You will be required to:
Help maintain the laboratory by keeping the area clean and tidy following stringent anti-contamination procedures
Prepare and validate quality control material
Maintain laboratory records and provide routine calibration and maintenance of equipment
Maintain consumable stocks
Assist with casework analysis by following all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Health and Safety requirements
Maintain sample integrity and chain of custody
Prepare casework samples for analysis and undertake analyses using instrumentation such as HSGC-FID, GC-MS, GC-QQQ, HPLC, LC-MS/MS and HRAM
Ensure analytical data conform to quality standards and input data onto an internal case management system
Take an active role in continuous improvement within the team
Qualifications Required qualifications and attributes:
Chemistry degree or equivalent
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Good planning and organisational skills
Adaptable with a strong sense of accountability and integrity
Ability to work collaboratively in a team
Previous experience in Forensic Toxicology, sample preparation techniques, instrumentation and related software, and Microsoft Office would be beneficial

Additional Information Due to the highly sensitive nature of the work, security clearance is required for this role. To gain security clearance you must have five years of continuous residency in the UK. Clearance is undertaken by a third party to police vetting standards (NPPV3 and SC). Any criminal convictions may prevent clearance. Drug and alcohol testing is also required prior to commencing employment. Further information is available from Warwickshire Police.
