The predicted salary is between 28800 - 43200 £ per year.
Please note this is a full time role working 40 hours per week over a four week rotational shift pattern:
- Week 1: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday 08:30 till 17:00.
- Week 2: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday 11:00 till 19:30 and Saturday 08:30-17:00.
- Week 3: Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday 08:30 till 17:00.
- Week 4: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday 11:00 till 19:30.
The purpose of this role is to carry out basic microbiological practices which contribute to the production of reliable and accurate test results. Providing support over a wide area of tasks and requirements to microbiologists and lead microbiologists. To prepare food samples for incubation as per your trained areas. To assist in the preparation of microbiological culture media and record the necessary quality control and performance checks. To provide general assistance to Laboratory Staff at all levels. To carry out housekeeping duties in line with Cleaning Schedules and other documents as required (including cleaning of equipment, floors, bins and benches when required). To carry out all washroom duties as required being mindful of the glassware requirements. To dispose of all laboratory waste in accordance with procedures. To report any unsafe or poor working practices in the laboratory. These task sheets can never be all encompassing and hence flexibility to task is required.
Qualifications
- Ability to work alone or as part of a team.
- Knowledge of the routine workings of a Laboratory Environment and the importance of a clean lab.
- Verbal and written communication skills.
- Computer literate, ability to use Word and Excel to basic level.
