Job Description
Please note, this is a 3 Month Fixed Term Contract.
Working hours are Monday – Friday, 9am – 5pm.
Whilst this role is based in Belfast, there may be travel required to our Environment Testing site based in Cork.
Responsibilities
- Preparation of media to be used in microbiological analysis
- Sample preparation in line with company protocols
- Microbiological analysis of water samples in line with company protocols
- Training and operation of relevant equipment
- General housekeeping of laboratory and prevention of cross contamination
- Accurate record-keeping associated with UKAS quality system
- Effective communication with all employees
- Report any anomalous results or situations to Laboratory Supervisor
- Health and Safety procedures are adhered to within the laboratory
Qualifications
- Educated to GCSE level or higher
- Computer literate with experience of MS Office applications (in particular Excel)
- Comfortable working in a busy environment
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to work quickly and accurately
- Ability to work on own initiative as well as part of a team
