Job Description

Unfortunately, we are unable to offer visa sponsorship for this role.

The purpose of this role will be tooversee sample collection and co-ordination of routes to ensure efficient use of company drivers’ time and maximise possible return of samples to laboratories and driving team.

This is a full time role working 37.5 hours per week - Monday to Friday from 09:00 till 17:00.

  • Oversee sample collection and co-ordination of routes to ensure efficient use of company drivers’ time.
  • Oversee the daily routes, and suggest where improvements can be made.
  • Creating waybills throughout the day for any collection requests outside of in-house driver’s areas. Pick up arrangements from end customers.
  • Tracking of shipments for both Diagnostics and Genetics DHL accounts. DHL issues support and investigations for both customers and internal shipments to France and Ireland.
  • Communication with the laboratory team for logistics enquiriesinternally for sending stock, samples, or any other consumables out/in.

Depending on request allocating and arranging the courier, packaging advise/ pick up arrangements.

  • Communication and support for customer services in Diagnostics and Genetics team for any new customers logistics enquiries. Providing quotations.
  • Customs paperwork: advising customers and internal teams on the correct information required for paperwork, providing templates, support in finding right commodities, values, description etc.
  • Dealing directly with customs issues with DHL, FEDEX, UPS depending on which supplier was used.
  • Sort dry ice orders (weekly), including managing variations due to annual leave of drivers or special requirements.
  • Import waybills creation for Mavie (Austria and Germany), twice a week and Safe Ambryo (Greece) per request.
  • Communication with Germany to fulfil tracking numbers on the shared spreadsheet between UK, Germany and Italy for the Genetics team.
  • Managing the XOne relationship and arranging correct transport of samples and transport boxes.
  • Daily management of the Logistics driving team for Guildford, as well as covering holidaysand sickness arrangements.
  • Liaison with third party couriers to facilitate an efficient daily collections plan.
  • Internal communication with other Eurofins departments with regards to managing and distribution consumables.
  • Collation of monthly logistics collections report for invoicing purposes.
  • DHL reports management.
  • Effective management of the Eurofins fleet, ensuring all vans are well maintained and road worthy.
  • Ensuring highest standards of Health and Safety are maintained across the logistics team including arranging UN3373 training for Dangerous Goods.
  • Assisting on induction training of logistics team.
  • Monitor third party courier costs to ensure that they are effectively controlled costs are controlled through effective use of resources.
  • Co-operate with the investigation and resolution of customer issues relating to their business unit.
  • Maintain high standard of temperature control, through the calibration of probes and profiling of vans where appropriate.
  • Work with both internal and external kit manufacturers to ensure consumables are shipped to customers and clients in an effective, economical and efficient manner.

Qualifications

  • Experienced in Logistics / Transport Planning.
  • Working knowledge of Dangerous Good Shipment requirements.
  • Working in a busy transport office & stock control environments.
  • Experience of supervision of teams.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office and Outlook
  • Driving license.
  • Customer focused, values driven individual with integrity.
  • Great communication skills both verbal and written across all ability levels.
