We are currently seeking an experienced Collections Driver to deliver and collect sample boxes to our valued customers in the south of England and within and around the city of London. This is a permanent role working 32 hours a week, Monday to Friday 07:00 – 13:30. Working hours may vary some days, due to the nature of our customers’ requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- The driver will be reporting to the logistics team leader in Sheffield, where we specialise in Endoscope washer water testing.
- Make collections and deliveries of sample boxes to and from customers around the south, running out of our Feltham Laboratory.
- Handle customers’ samples safely and appropriately, ensuring they are stowed correctly within the vehicle.
- Respond positively to route changes that the company feels reasonable for the driver to complete.
- Ensure collections are returned to site safely and securely, and in the correct location.
- Communicate on a regular basis with your team leader, making them aware of any delays.
- Park the vehicle overnight at the normal place of work and any off‑duty periods unless previously agreed otherwise with the management team.
- Carry out daily and weekly vehicle checks, oil, water etc. and report any defects to the logistics manager in a timely manner.
- Report accidents and breakdowns.
- Ensure the vehicle is locked and secure when unattended.
- Promote the Eurofins image by wearing a clean, neat, and tidy uniform as provided, and by maintaining the vehicle in a clean, tidy, and serviceable condition.
- Provide a high level of internal and external customer care.
- Partake in any developmental training as required in compliance with the Company Standard.
- Drive Company vehicles safely and courteously in accordance with the Driver of the Department of Transport and in compliance with the Highway Code.
- Take all reasonable action to ensure the safety and security of vehicles, equipment, goods, fellow employees and other road users.
Qualifications:
- Good geographical knowledge of the UK road network.
- Appreciation of vehicle maintenance and safety checks.
- A customer‑focused approach with a pleasant demeanour.
- Effective communication skills.
- Positive can‑do attitude.
- Experience of chilled multi‑drop collection and deliveries, working to strict timed deadlines.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
