Job Description

For this role the IT Field Service Engineer (Fixed Term Contract – 6 Months) is responsible for supporting the successful integration of seven UK locations into the Eurofins IT environment.

Working as part of the IT Infrastructure team, the role will deliver on-site technical activities associated with the integration programme, including device deployments, hardware refreshes, site migrations, technology standardisation, asset validation, and user onboarding activities.

This is a project-focused position created specifically to support the UK integration programme and is not responsible for the delivery of routine business-as-usual IT support activities, except where directly related to the successful execution of project objectives.

Please note this is a 6 month fixed term contract, working 37.6 hours per week. Monday to Friday 09:00 till 17:30.

Regular extensive travel between Eurofins UK sites will be required for this role.

  • Support the delivery of IT integration activities across seven UK locations in accordance with agreed project plans and timelines.
  • Execute site-based migration activities, including workstation deployments, user onboarding, system cutovers, and technology transitions.
  • Work closely with project managers, infrastructure teams, and business stakeholders to ensure successful implementation of integration milestones.
  • Provide on-site support during key project events, including migrations, go-live activities, and post-deployment stabilisation.
  • Deploy, configure, and replace end-user devices in line with Eurofins standards.
  • Install and configure approved software, peripherals, and standard operating environments.
  • Support the standardisation of local IT equipment, ensuring consistency with Eurofins policies, technology standards, and security requirements.
  • Assist in the migration of users to corporate platforms and services where required.
  • Perform site technology assessments, asset verification, and readiness activities to support integration planning.
  • Support the implementation of infrastructure changes, including workstation replacements, printer deployments, network-connected device migrations, and technology refresh activities.
  • Conduct basic connectivity testing and validation to ensure successful deployment of integrated solutions.
  • Assist with user acceptance, validation, and operational handover activities following implementation.
  • Maintain accurate records of IT assets throughout the integration programme.
  • Support asset discovery, inventory validation, device reconciliation, and lifecycle tracking activities.
  • Ensure all deployed equipment is correctly recorded in asset management systems and project documentation.
  • Assist with the secure collection, redeployment, or disposal of legacy equipment in accordance with company policies.
  • Update project records, deployment logs, asset registers, and implementation documentation.
  • Follow approved project methodologies, change processes, and standard operating procedures.
  • Contribute to the development of deployment guides, knowledge articles, and lessons learned documentation.
  • Provide status updates and progress reporting to project leads and stakeholders as required.
  • Build effective working relationships with local site teams, project stakeholders, and IT colleagues.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally regarding project activities, deployment schedules, and user readiness requirements.
  • Travel extensively between Eurofins locations across the UK to support project delivery activities.

Qualifications

  • Experience in an IT Field Service, Desktop Support, or similar end user support role.

• Strong working knowledge of

  • Windows desktops and laptops.
  • Common end user applications and peripherals.
  • Hardware break/fix and troubleshooting.
  • Good customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently across multiple sites.
  • Full UK driving licence (or ability to travel between sites).
  • Customer focused with a strong service mindset.
  • Organised, reliable, and detail oriented.
  • Calm and effective under pressure.
  • Willing to learn and develop technical skills.
  • Team oriented with a professional attitude.
  • Experience supporting laboratory, forensic, healthcare, or regulated environments.
  • Knowledge of ITIL based service management practices.
  • Experience with asset management and ticketing systems.
  • Relevant IT certifications or technical training.
