We are seeking a talented
ADME Scientist to Client’s team in Oxford.
This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the discovery and development of next-generation therapies by providing critical ADME and pharmacokinetic expertise across a diverse portfolio of drug discovery programs.
This is a full time, permanent position working a flexible 40 hours per week, Monday – Friday.
As an ADME Scientist, you will work alongside multidisciplinary project teams, driving the design, execution, interpretation, and communication of in vitro and in vivo ADME studies that support candidate selection and progression into clinical development.
- Design, oversee, and interpret ADME and DMPK studies to support drug discovery projects.
- Perform and manage a range of in vitro ADME assays, including Metabolic stability, CYP inhibition and induction, Transporter studies, Plasma protein binding and Permeability assessments.
- Analyse and interpret pharmacokinetic and metabolism data to guide medicinal chemistry optimisation.
- Collaborate closely with medicinal chemists, biologists, toxicologists, and project teams in support compound design and selection.
- Contribute to DMPK strategy development and candidate nomination activities.
- Present scientific findings to project teams and senior Client stakeholders.
- Maintain high-quality documentation and ensure compliance with scientific and regulatory standards.
- Remain up to date in advancements in ADME, DMPK, and drug discovery technologies.
Qualifications
- BSc or above, or equivalent experience in Pharmacology, Drug Metabolism, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Biochemistry, or a related scientific discipline.
- Experience in ADME/DMPK within the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or CRO environment.
- Strong understanding of drug metabolism, pharmacokinetics, and ADME principles.
- Hands-on experience with LC-MS/MS and ADME assay platforms.
- Ability to interpret complex datasets and provide clear scientific recommendations.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary drug discovery teams.
- Experience supporting small molecule drug discovery programmes.
- Knowledge of PK/PD modelling and simulation.
- Familiarity with transporter biology and drug-drug interaction assessments.
- Experience with biologics, oligonucleotides, or novel therapeutic modalities.
