Job Description

This is a great opportunity to join Eurofins Food Testing division working within the Microbiology team as a Quality Coordinator. The purpose of this role will be to be responsible for the maintenance and improvement of the Quality Management System and maintenance and extension of all accreditations at a local level. To inspire and drive a culture of outstanding Quality to exceed the requirements of our customers and embrace our core organisational values.
Please note this is a full time role working 37.5 hours per week – Monday to Friday 09:00 till 17:00. This role has the flexibility to be hybrid.
For this role its essential to have microbiology laboratory experience, quality training will be provided provided for the right candidate.
- Maintain the document control system for site-specific documentation.
- Prepare and amend Quality documentation as required.
- Ensure that customer complaint investigations and client queries are investigated and resolved in a timely manner in conjunction with Laboratory Management and the Customer Services team.
- Carry out internal test method audits, system audits and ensure audit programs are adhered to.
- Ensure that corrective actions assigned during internal and external auditing are completed.
- Ensure all equipment records, calibration and monitoring is carried out by relevant laboratory staff and that appropriate records are maintained.
- Conduct Quality inductions for new staff and ensure that staff are trained and aware of their responsibilities in respect of Quality Management Systems,
- Assist with training of laboratory staff in internal auditing, non-conforming work investigation and root cause analysis.
- Ensure that external proficiency scheme samples are tested and reported accurately, including timely investigations into unsatisfactory results, in conjunction with Laboratory Management.
- Ensure that Internal Quality Control is maintained and acceptable.
- Collate information and reports and carry out trend analysis for the Annual Management Review meeting.
- Raise non-conforming work issues related to Quality and investigate using root cause analysis where assigned.
- Provide the monthly Quality KPI report to the site management, the Director of Technical and Quality and the Technical and Group Microbiology Quality Managers.
- Gather pre and post-audit information for external audits and submit data to the accreditation/certification body.
- Participate in and facilitate external laboratory audits, e.g. UKAS, RSA.
- Liaise with third-party suppliers on relevant areas e.g. equipment calibration.
- Escalation of issues affecting Quality performance to Group Quality Managers and Director of Technical and Quality.
- Any other duties necessary to ensure the quality of results and service to the customers as designated by the Group Quality Manager/ Director of Technical and Quality.
Qualifications
- Degree in chemistry /microbiology or related discipline and relevant experience of quality systems
- Excellent working knowledge of Food Microbiology / Chemistry laboratories accredited to ISO17025/RSA.
- Experience of working in a UKAS accredited laboratory.
- It will be of advantage to have worked in a quality position previously howevertraining in quality can be provided.
- Excellent analytical skills.
- ‘Can do’ attitude and be able to deliver change through people management skills.
