Purpose of the post: Support the business with the in-house LIMS Live Clinical database and Project Management Tool and facilitate and coordinate the implementation of new IT tools, where appropriate. Ensure the smooth running of the Live Clinical Tool to facilitate the production of studies for the business and look for opportunities to increase efficiency using the IT tools. Problem solve and deliver on time to set KPI’s for all IT development requests. As part of Eurofins IT you will need to work with the central team and represent the needs of the business and coordinate improvements, training and implementations.
- Database design: Candidates should be adept at creating a structured database layout that optimizes data storage and retrieval.
- VBA programming: Proficiency in VBA is essential for tasks like automating data processing, integrating with other office applications and creating custom user interfaces.
- SQL expertise: Solid command over Structured Query Language (SQL) is necessary for writing queries to insert, update, delete, and retrieve data efficiently from Access databases or from SQL server.
- Data normalization: The ability to organize data to reduce redundancy and improve database efficiency through normalization.
- Troubleshooting and optimization: Candidates should be skilled in identifying and resolving performance issues, ensuring databases run smoothly.
Be responsible for UAT with key users for any changes or new tools implemented and ensure training and documentation is available to support the business with the tool. Provide support throughout the deployment stage.
Qualifications:
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Access and database management.
- Previous experience in database design using a hybrid architecture - Microsoft Access (front end) and SQL Server (back end).
- VBA programming within Microsoft Access and automation of Microsoft Excel and Word using object libraries.
- SQL expertise, including using SSMS to manage the back-end databases.
- Analytical thinking.
- Attention to detail.
- Problem-solving abilities.
- Effective communication, with IT and non-IT individuals.
- Previous experience working with teams and translating their needs to IT solutions.
- Certification in Database management tools e.g. Access.
