As the Junior QA Test Analyst, you will be working with the Forensics Software Test Team, as well as other departments within IT to ensure that changes made by the developers are of the highest quality. You will be working with various areas of the business to coordinate between developers and users to process changes through the testing cycle. To be trained/mentored in all testing activities/Processes. Junior Tester will move to a competent tester with all the training provided. Due to the nature of the work/data, there will be the need for security vetting to SC level.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
  • Able to work on numerous concurrent projects, and manage work/issue logs with numerous teams/developers.
  • Responsible for tracking issues/bugs raised and coordinating with appropriate developers/users as required.
  • Able to give regular reviews with the Test Lead on testing progress/issues.
  • Able to develop, maintain and execute regression scripts for new and existing suites.

  • Take clear ownership of day‑to‑day issues, using sound judgement to resolve challenges and escalating as required.
  • Bring patience, determination, integrity and a strong eye for detail to every task, ensuring consistently high standards.
  • Maintain exceptional levels of concentration, accuracy and reliability, even when working with repetitive or complex processes.
  • Handle a busy and fast‑paced workload with confidence, demonstrating strong organisational skills, personal resilience and the ability to meet deadlines under pressure.

Advantageous
  • Knowledge of Expert Systems
  • ISTQB Foundation Certificate or equivalent / Bachelor's degree
  • Have some experience in UAT testing and using C-LIMS.
Important Information

Due to the sensitive nature of our work, this role will require the successful candidate to achieve NPPV3 + Security Clearance (SC). To be eligible, you must have 5 years’ continuous UK residency. As part of the vetting process, you’ll be asked to provide information about your background, including your employment and address history, financial circumstances and details of close family or partners. These checks are carried out to ensure individuals accessing police data, systems and sites are trustworthy and suitable for the role.
