Eurofins Forensic Services (EFS) laboratories are amongst the most advanced analytical facilities in Europe, enabling the company to offer a complete and comprehensive range of independent and innovative forensic testing solutions to police forces, legal and criminal justice organisations throughout the UK and Europe.

Working hours are Monday - Friday, 9am - 5pm. Please note, this role will require travel across our Eurofins UK Forensics sites positioned in Heathrow, Warrington, Tamworth and Abingdon therefore a full UK driving licence is essential.

As an IT Infrastructure Engineer you will design, implement, and maintain core infrastructure systems across our enterprise environment. We are seeking a candidate with deep expertise in VMware, FC Storage, SAS Storage, Citrix (including ADC), and backup solutions (Commvault and Veeam).

You will be responsible for ensuring high availability, security, and performance across all systems, while supporting project delivery and ongoing operations.

• Virtual Infrastructure: Design, deploy, and maintain VMware-based virtual environments, including vSphere, ESXi hosts, and vCenter. Manage and maintain FC and SAS storage infrastructure; ensure high-performance, resilient storage availability. Implement and manage enterprise backup solutions using Commvault and Veeam to ensure data protection and recoverability.
• Physical Infrastructure: Lead installation and configuration of physical servers, SAN/NAS storage, and associated data centre hardware.
• Monitoring & Maintenance: Monitor system performance and capacity, conduct routine maintenance, and proactively resolve issues before they impact operations.
• Collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams including networking, applications, and service desk to deliver robust infrastructure solutions.

You may also be required to provide Level 1 and Level 2 support as and when needed, including assisting with user incidents, hardware/software troubleshooting, and escalation management.

Demonstrated expertise in physical server and storage hardware installation and maintenance. Proven ability to work independently on complex technical projects and troubleshoot high-impact infrastructure issues.
