The predicted salary is between 30000 - 40000 € per year.

Unfortunately, we are unable to offer visa sponsorship for this role. This is a full‑time, 6‑month fixed‑term position, starting the 1st of July 2026 to 31st of December 2026. You will be working a flexible 37.5 hour week, Monday – Friday.

As a Development Scientist you will support the development of new product formulations, providing support to automated equipment and analytical equipment. Additionally, you may support further automated platforms and health‑care product development evaluation.

Job Responsibilities

  • Coordinate routine workflows by organising, scheduling and planning requests from multiple client facilities, ensuring smooth progression through automated platforms.
  • Operate and support automation by reviewing designs of experiments, running automated workflows, supporting formulation platforms and ensuring all equipment is pre‑calibrated.
  • Manage laboratory logistics by overseeing COSHH, safety, sample integrity and timelines, escalating issues promptly and documenting any non‑conformances.
  • Execute and report testing by running routine automated requests, performing statistical reporting and conducting in‑line/off‑line quality assessments across haircare, fibre and sub‑fibre measurements using a range of analytical techniques.
  • Maintain documentation and communication by preparing and updating SOPs, reports and protocols, ensuring all records meet quality standards, and keeping clear communication with key client contacts.
  • Support laboratory operations.

Qualifications

  • Experience in advanced analytical techniques including HPLC, GC/MS, SFC, DSC, DVS, DMA, TGA, SEM, Raman spectroscopy and wider physical property evaluation.
  • Strong expertise in personal care performance testing with proven capability in evaluating formulations, particularly within haircare.
  • Experience in formulation evaluation gained in a development laboratory environment within Personal Care and/or Home Care.
  • Ability to work with automated platforms, demonstrating strong troubleshooting skills and confidence in resolving technical issues.
  • Strong data and statistical skills with the ability to interpret raw data, apply statistical analysis and draw clear, evidence‑based conclusions.
  • Strong communication and digital proficiency.
