The predicted salary is between 24000 - 30000 £ per year.
30 hours per week. Tuesday-Friday, Wednesday-Saturday on a rotational basis. Hours of work will cover 6.00am - 2.00pm and 10.00am - 6.00pm.
Purpose of the post:
- Support the water microbiology department.
- Preparation of media (agars etc.) to be used in microbiological analysis.
- Sample preparation in line with company protocols.
- Microbiological analysis of water samples in line with company protocols.
- Training and operation of relevant equipment.
- General housekeeping of laboratory and prevention of cross contamination.
- Accurate record-keeping associated with UKAS quality system.
- Effective communication with all employees.
- Report any anomalous results or situations to Laboratory Supervisor.
- Health and Safety procedures are adhered to within the laboratory.
Qualifications:
- A level in a science related subject (preferably Biology).
- GCSE English and Mathematics and Science or equivalent.
- Computer literate with experience of MS Office applications (in particular Excel).
- Comfortable working in a busy environment.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to work quickly and accurately.
- Ability to work on own initiative as well as part of a team.
