This is a full time, permanent position working 37 hours per week flexibly between 07:00 and 19:00. As a Material Scientist you will be supporting the client in both Manufacturing and R&D efforts by conducting analysis and characterization of the samples generated.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Understand and demonstrate experience in a range of materials characterisation techniques.
  • Demonstrate understanding of root cause analysis methodologies and analyses required in the formulation of amorphous dispersions.
  • Support in the design of protocols and experimental work.
  • Familiarity with electronic lab notebooks and ALCOA principles for the recording of data.
  • Write or constructively review SOPs, Protocols, technical reports, risk assessments as required.
  • Collect and measure productivity through agreed metrics such as number of tests performed, cycle times, lab/product issues, number of hours worked per project, etc.
  • Prepare and approve results for tests in which they have received the appropriate training and are deemed competent.

Qualifications:

  • Hold a degree in Chemistry or a related discipline.
  • Possess a sound, fundamental knowledge and practical application of Organic Chemistry to pharmaceutical drug design.
  • Have relevant experience of Material Science and analytical tools and techniques within a group organisation.
  • Good foundation of experience with traditional analytical techniques as well as modern instrumental equipment (e.g., Particle size, PXRD, DSC, TGA).
  • Sound knowledge of analysis methods and tools.
