To lead the Technical Services team and drive continuous improvement in the interface between the sales team, the end customer and the testing laboratory in the reporting and interpretation of test reports in the Cosmetics & Personal Care Business Unit.
Responsibilities:
- To monitor and plan TSM workload capacity for even distribution.
- To manage all aspects of allocated samples/projects from receipt of the sales handover to test report creation and issue to the client, including physical sample checking, shipping preparation and monitoring, lab liaison, management of dates, and client and lab communication.
- To have a sound understanding of a range of testing processes and how these principles can be applied to support customer requests and relevant legislation.
- Keep up to date with current techniques, topics and legislation to advise Eurofins customers on accurate interpretation of results, answer queries and provide support as required.
- Monitor the training needs of the team and work with the technical manager team to provide this.
- To support the business unit in meeting customers' needs and requirements.
- Keep up to date with Eurofins network labs capabilities, expertise and ways of working to ensure efficient ways of working.
- To create and maintain appropriate report templates for tests booked, legislation and standard changes.
- Demonstrate a proactive approach, lead, encourage and demonstrate teamwork.
- Assist in setting and monitoring the team members KPIs, including on-time report delivery, report accuracy and customer feedback.
- Achieve personal KPIs as above.
- Assist in the technical and performance training and development for team members.
- Mentor the team to pursue continuous improvement and document approaches that assist the team.
- Assist the business in applying best practice and interpretation of results.
- Attend and contribute to lab calls and escalate issues when required.
- Generate client-specific reports with conclusions with a high level of quality and technical competence.
- Support the business when requested in carrying out testing where appropriate training is in place.
- Provide a high level of internal and external customer care and lead the team to do the same.
- The post-holder may be required to work outside normal hours with prior agreement of the Manager.
Qualifications:
- Degree in related scientific subject and practical work experience.
- Experience of using Microsoft Office packages.
- Experience of using dedicated software systems (e.g., LIMs).
- Broad understanding of chemistry and/or consumer product manufacturing processes.
- Customer-facing experience in a business-to-business role.
- Understanding of good laboratory practice and good clinical practice.
- Understanding of consumer products and quality/performance.
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritise.
- Effective written and oral communication skills and the ability to convey technical material to different levels within the business and clients.
- Ability to prioritise when given multiple tasks.
