Job Description

Please note, this is a 3 Month Fixed Term Contract.

Working hours are Monday – Friday, 9am – 5pm. This role is based in Belfast, with potential travel to our Environment Testing site in Cork.

Responsibilities

  • Preparation of media to be used in microbiological analysis
  • Sample preparation in line with company protocols
  • Microbiological analysis of water samples in line with company protocols
  • Training and operation of relevant equipment
  • General housekeeping of laboratory and prevention of cross contamination
  • Accurate data entry into the laboratory database
  • Accurate record-keeping associated with UKAS quality system
  • Effective communication with all employees
  • Report any anomalous results or situations to Laboratory Supervisor
  • Health and Safety procedures are adhered to within the laboratory

Qualifications

  • Educated to GCSE level or higher
  • Computer literate with experience of MS Office applications (especially Excel)
  • Comfortable working in a busy environment
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to work quickly and accurately
  • Ability to work on own initiative as well as part of a team
