Join Euroclear as a Risk Assessment Lead (m/f/x)

We’re offering an exciting opportunity within our First Line of Defence Financial Crime Team. As a Risk Assessment Lead, you’ll play a pivotal role in supporting Euroclear’s mission and values by helping to uphold the highest standards of financial crime and sanctions compliance across Euroclear UK & International.

This role was created to align with our strategic objectives and meet regulatory expectations. Reporting to the Head of the Risk Assessment Unit, you’ll assess financial crime risks as part of the Customer Due Diligence(CDD) process and ensure that Euroclear’s onboarding and monitoring standards are consistently applied across clients, issuers, and third-party providers. You\’ll collaborate closely with first-line Financial Crime Managers and second-line Legal and Compliance teams on all aspects of KYC and financial crime prevention.

What you’ll do:

  • Conduct and analyze KYC/B checks and client screening results.
  • Verify KYC documentation and perform risk assessments for new and existing relationships.
  • Monitor accounts based on risk profiles and investigate AML and transaction alerts.
  • Manage high-risk relationships, including those involving politically exposed persons (PEPs).
  • Review client accounts and perform CDD and enhanced due diligence (EDD).
  • Support the Head of the Risk Assessment Unit in maintaining up-to-date financial crime procedures.
  • Coordinate and manage red flag trigger events, including documentation and recordkeeping.
  • Offboard relationships and process standing data change requests.
  • Respond to inquiries with professionalism, accuracy, and a proactive mentality.
  • Deliver assigned tasks related to Risk Assessment Unit projects.
  • Perform control-related tasks and ensure accurate evidence is maintained.
  • Identify operational risks and propose improvements to reduce exposure.
  • Review and enhance existing controls and procedures to ensure they are effective and fit for purpose.
  • Act as deputy for the Head of the Risk Assessment Unit when required.

What you bring:

  • Validated experience in anti-financial crime processes within a regulated environment (., FCA, Bank of England), ideally in custody, registry, or brokerage.
  • Strong interest in financial crime prevention, supported by evidence of proactive learning and development.
  • Familiarity with CSD operating models is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills with attention to detail and the ability to collaborate effectively.
  • Ability to handle competing priorities and meet tight deadlines with confidence and professionalism.
