Network Security Operations Engineer (Proxy/Firewall)
CISO Platform Security
We are committed to ensuring the security and integrity of our network infrastructure. We are looking for a skilled network security engineer to join our team and help us maintain and review our proxy and firewall flows.
Responsibilities
- Monitor, maintain and review proxy and firewall flows to ensure network security and compliance.
- Configure and manage proxy settings.
- Conduct regular security assessments and audits to ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices.
- Collaborate with IT and security teams to develop and implement security policies and procedures.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for network security issues.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest security trends, technologies, and threats.
Next to the operational tasks you will be expected to contribute projects. This includes collecting feedback from stakeholders (compliance, risk, security), customize and implement new solutions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or Master in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a network security engineer or similar role.
- Strong knowledge of proxy servers, firewalls, and network security protocols.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
- At least a few years of experience in IT security with the right security mindset.
- Bonus: Experience with security tools and technologies such as IDS/IPS, VPNs, and SIEM.
Technical skills
- Proficiency in configuring and managing firewalls (., Cisco ASA, Checkpoint, Palo Alto, Fortinet).
- Understanding of firewall policies, NAT, and VPN configurations.
- Experience with proxy server technologies (., Squid, Blue Coat, Zscaler).
- Knowledge of web filtering, caching, and SSL inspection.
- Customer service oriented.
- You are a very good communicator in English, both verbal and written, and able to discuss and defend the security interests with individuals and groups of IT (security) experts.
- You are a team player who communicates in an open, respectful and constructive way with his customers and peers, both verbally and in writing. You will take ownership and ensure that organizational quality standards are met.
- Attention to (good) time management with the right sense for prioritization.
- Reliable, stress resistant and flexible.
