Want to join a new & dynamic team focusing on improving the quality of the non-functional aspects of our IT initiatives? We are looking for a Non-Functional Test Specialist who will drive and manage our non-functional testing for one of our modernization programs in our UK Testing squad. The Group Business Solutions (GBS) division ensures the competitiveness of Euroclear by delivering reliable and sustainable IT solutions for the financial securities markets. Our technical teams deliver both new IT solutions and improve existing applications for both our internal and external clients. Quality is key in reaching that objective.

The role is to shape and manage Non-Functional test requirements across NFT categories, translate those requirements into a test strategy, and ensure proper and timely preparation and execution in alignment with our Infrastructure & Security divisions. You will be part of a team of NFT specialists in which cross-learning & collaboration is valued. The NFT domains covered include Disaster Recovery, Resilience, Microservices, Alerting, Monitoring, Performance, and Security. This role is not a pure performance testing SME role and requires practical experience in 2 or more of these areas with a primary focus on resilience, recovery and fault tolerance. Testing for other NFT categories should not be limited to supporting performance load.

  • Drive the definition and testing of non-functional requirements (NFRs) as part of the Technology transformation (JAVA, KAFKA, Linux, Cloud, API, OpenShift/Kubernetes).
  • Work closely with technical and business stakeholders to ensure non-functional requirements are clearly defined and testable.
  • Define and articulate the Non-Functional Test Strategy.
  • Act as SME for resilience and recovery strategy, ensuring readiness for real-world operational disruptions.
  • Be confident to lead cross-functional teams as the NFR SME and point of contact, owning the delivery.
  • Adopt a shift-left mindset.
  • Design and execute NFR testing cycles, coordinating efforts with external teams until bottleneck resolution through root-cause examination; document test results and compile them into consolidated high-level reports.
  • Provide technical hands-on support at various levels as required.
  • Hands-on experience in planning, preparing & executing Resilience / Disaster Recovery / Continuity / Failover testing / Performance.
  • Exposure to tools supporting resilience & operational observability (e.g., Splunk, Prometheus, Kafka, Chaos tooling).
  • Understanding of high-availability architectures, infrastructure redundancy & backup/restore strategies.
  • Experience in working within large-scale and complex technology implementations or changes.
  • Experience in writing clear, concise and comprehensive non-functional test approaches, plans and cases.
  • Experience in introducing early NFT (shift-left).
  • Strong ability to translate requirements to technical experts at the level of security and/or infrastructure.
  • Ability to translate test results into understandable language for non-specialists and advise the business, design, infrastructure & development teams on resolution priorities.
  • Hands-on experience with agile development practices, DevOps pipelines, continuous integration/deployment and test automation.

How to prepare for a job interview at Euroclear

Brush Up on Your Technical Skills

For an IT consulting role, be ready to demonstrate your technical prowess. You might face questions on systems integration, cloud technologies, or even troubleshooting specific software. If you have experience with tools like AWS, Azure, or even specific programming languages, make sure you can talk about them fluently.

Showcase Your Problem-Solving Approach

IT consulting is all about solving problems for clients. Think about how you can illustrate your approach to a past challenge using the STAR method (Situation, Task, Action, Result). It's a great way to show how you tackle complex issues and come up with effective solutions.

Know the Business Impact of IT Solutions

When discussing your experiences, focus not just on the tech solutions you implemented, but also on their business impact. Employers want to see that you can connect IT with organisational goals. Prep examples that highlight how your tech contributions improved efficiency or reduced costs for past clients or projects.

Prepare for Behavioural Questions

Since IT consulting often involves teamwork and client interactions, expect behavioural questions that assess your interpersonal skills. Be prepared with examples that demonstrate your adaptability, communication skills, and how you handle client feedback. Before the interview, think of situations where you worked closely with clients to create effective IT strategies or changes.
