About The Role
This full-time post is available September 2026 on a fixed term basis to cover a maternity until July 2027. Applications for secondments will be considered subject to agreement from your current line manager. The starting salary will be on £33,951 on Grade E, depending on skills, knowledge and experience. This role offers the opportunity for hybrid working - some time on campus and some from home.
Summary of the role
The Professional Pathway programmes provide students with the opportunity to gain an insight into their chosen Pathway sector, learn from and network with experienced professionals in the field and complete a paid internship with an employer. The skills, knowledge and work experience obtained through the programme directly aids students’ career development. The Programme Officer will work closely with the Programme Manager to ensure the smooth running of the Professional Pathways programme. The Programme Officer will have lead co-ordination responsibility for the Professional Pathway programmes. This includes co-ordinating the process from start to finish, which entails student and employer-facing marketing, student recruitment (applications, shortlisting and assessment centres), securing employer internships, organising the employer-led training, logistical arrangements, budget management and reviewing and evaluating all programmes.
About You
We are seeking someone with a commitment to providing an excellent student experience to those on the programme along with excellent organisational and planning skills, the ability to manage own workload, set priorities and work to strict deadlines. Applicants will also have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and have the ability to develop excellent working relationships with a wide range of people from internal departments, students through the recruitment process and external employers who engage with the programme.
