About The Role

The starting salary will be from £30,878 on Grade D depending on knowledge, skills and experience.

This role offers the opportunity for hybrid working - some time on campus and some from home.

This role sits within Business Technology Services (BTS). This department bridges the gap between the business and IT on matters relating to the provision and automation of business services. We focus on ensuring that these services and products are effectively aligned with the business needs and Strategy 2030.

This role reports to the BTS Systems Support Lead and sits within the BTS Systems Support team. BTS Systems Support has responsibility for the support and development of core university business applications that support the day to day running of key teams in Professional Services, Estates and Education. These platforms range in size from large scale HR & Finance products (Technology One, iTrent) to smaller products that support specific processes such as student accommodation, online payments and graduate career opportunities.

The team also plays a central role in ensuring integrations between platforms are supported and maintained.

About You

We're looking for a motivated and detail-oriented professional with a strong aptitude for systems, data, and technology. You will have a good standard of education, including GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths, and ideally be educated to A-Level standard or hold a relevant IT qualification or certification. An ITIL Foundation qualification, or a willingness to work towards one, would be advantageous.

You will have excellent written and verbal communication skills and be confident building positive working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.

You should have experience working with large-scale business systems, such as financial, HR, CRM, or student record systems, and be familiar with system configuration, integration, and testing activities.

Most importantly, you will be enthusiastic about learning and development, adaptable to change, and able to identify practical solutions to complex challenges. Experience working within a large and complex organisation, particularly within the Higher Education sector, would be beneficial but is not essential.
